031110: FRIDAY 03.12.10 RELEASE & SATURDAY 03.13.10 RELEASES!!

|x| What’s good, fam! Pay close attention because there are a couple of really big releases this weekend-ONE TOMORROW (FRIDAY) and 2 ON SATURDAY. I feel like saying “don’t sleep” on any of these would be the overstatement of the year so I shall refrain, but I will say, people have been calling in anticipation for all 4 shoes that you will soon be seeing so there is a chance we may sell through them come monday. Just sayin’.

NIKE MANNY PACQUIAO TRAINER SC 2010 LOW QS // FRIDAY, 03.12.10 RELEASE – KICKS/HI MAKALOA 1100A:

You already know. In lieu of his upcoming bout with Joshua Clottey this Saturday at Dallas Cowboys Stadium (an event within itself!!), Nike has put together a dope collection of gear (as seen on our KICKS/HI blog) and this Tranier SC 2010 Low. Again, the Nike design team stayed true to PacMan’s philipino heritage by utilizing the colors of his national flag: red, blue, yellow and white. The best thing about all these Pacquiao shoes is that Nike gets to showcase their latest trainer silhouettes to a target consumer that might not necessarily pick up a 2010 Trainer SC on the shelf in a regular black and white colorway. Marketing 101 in all its glory. Get your Manny PacMan Trainer SC 2010 Low TOMORROW (FRIDAY 03.12.10) at KICKS/HI MAkaloa. Doors open at 1100A. First come, first served. We only have limited sizes and quantities available. No holds or discounts on release product.
Phone orders accepted beginning Monday, 031510: 808.941.9191.

CONVERSE FIRST STRING: CT ASYMMETRICAL OX & OS 74 ASYMMETRICAL OX for NUMBER (N)INE // SATURDAY, 03.13.10 RELEASE:

Converse First String: Number (N)ine CT Asymmetrical OX.

Converse First String: Number (N)ine OS 74 Asymmetrical OX.

We are EXTREMELY PRIVILEGED to carry this highly anticipated collaboration between Converse First String and Takahiro Miyashita’s Number (N)ine label:

“Converse worked closely with Takahiro to create his interpretations of the Chuck Taylor All Star and One Star shoes, which Takahiro considers ‘authentic and permanent’. Taking a hybrid approach, Takahiro chose to incorporate the asymmetrical lacing of the 1970 and ‘80s era Converse Odessa shoe into his design. The Odessa shoe, which was originally designed for running, was super innovative for its time and a shoe from the Converse archives that Takahiro has long admired.

The collection includes an oxford version of the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe with premium deer skin, yellow shag suede uppers, asymmetrical lacing and a metallic gold star on the shoe’s heel. A One Star version is also available in premium deer skin white shag suede uppers, asymmetrical lacing and a silver metallic star on the shoe’s heel.” -CONVERSE First String.

These are beautiful shoes. Straight up. This is that collectable, super limited (only 300 pairs in the entire US), styled out, high profile collab that you want to have up in your stacks-or better yet: pon your feet. I saw these firsthand a month ago and was bugging out on ‘em. I even had a weird dream that involved the yellow CT Asymmetrical OX, a box of Cheese-Its (which I hate), and a bowling alley-OK weird I know, but what I’m trying to say is that I never dreamt about a shoe in my life-that I can recall. You can pick up yours this Saturday, 03.13.10, exclusively in Hawaii at KICKS/HI Makaloa at 1100A.
Phone orders accepted beginning Monday, 031510: 808.941.9191.

NIKE SB “PALM TREE” DUNK LOW – MARCH 2010 QUICKSTRIKE // SATURDAY, 03.13.10 RELEASE:

“The palm tree at the foot of the 2nd step of the big 4 (4 stair set) at Raoul Wallenberg Alternative High School in SF has played a supporting role in skateboarding since 1990. My Nike SB Dunk Low colorway is inspired by this little tree’s ‘twenty year anniversary’ in 2010/2011. The colorway draws a palette from the palm tree itself while utilizing hemp for the Swoosh. The white midsole represents the step and has a visible “waxed ledge” around the top of it, just like that step at Wallenberg. Lastly, the insoles each contain a pixelated image of the palm tree itself, giving a nod to all of the times it has appeared in skate videos over the years.” -Bob Kronbauer (designer of the “Palm Tree” Dunk Low SB). Sometimes there’s never any story with some of the colorways that come out and sometimes there’s stories that don’t necessarily need to be told. This story is like a funny ancedote to me because its on some skate nerd status, which is something I definitely do when I watch skate videos. I used to try and find all the music from all the videos I really liked: i.e. “Questionable”, “Da Deal is Dead”, “Useless Wooden Toys”, “Mouse”, etc. That’s a good way to get your music horizons broadened. The “Palm Tree” Dunk Low SB QS is available Saturday, 03.13.10 at KICKS/HI Makaloa.
