CONVERSE – CHUCK TAYLOR PREMIUM OX:
This shoe marks that time of year when spring becomes summer, and everyone starts to wear less clothes. This premium (with premium leather accents, capping and insole) is a great look with shorts or with colored chinos, which Complex Mag told me are “on trend” for this summer. BTW, I really don’t like when people/magazine try and dictate/criticize a style – unless its 150% on point, then I have no argument, but otherwise….notsomuch.

CONVERSE – CHAMBRAY STAR PLAYER REV OX:
The Star Player with a chambray upper, white eyelets, and a cotton twill lining. The chambray is a light blue/grey that is enough of a contrast to most denim washes that this is a blue shoe that you can actually wear a lot. This is also a great look with almost any color of shorts. I will say that my fascination with chambray has not waned one bit. I’ve amassed quite a few L/S button up workwear type chambray shirts over the years and wear them often. A personal uniform of sorts I guess.

NIKE – LUNAR CHUKKA WOVEN +:
That saying: “winner, winner, chicken dinner” is pretty silly – unless the “chicken dinner” in question is at Roscoe’s, then its not such a silly saying after all. You will not get a chicken dinner with this Lunar Chukka Woven +, but it is definitely a winner. The tafetta woven upper is beautiful. The leather accents are perfect. The tongue is slightly padded so it holds its shape if popping the tongue out is your thing. The Lunar outsole insures comfort, and overall, the shoe is lighter than a hummingbird’s eyelash. I’m all about it when shoes are all tonal, everything. Very slick.

NIKE – LUNAR VENTURE:
The Lunar Venture returns in a new black with mint green upper. This is from the V-Series – where Nike took 3 OG running styles: Vector, Vengeance, and Vortex. Released them with their signature vintage treatment, and also re-introduced the same three styles in updated hybrid styles, like this Lunar Venture, with 2011 running technology. A little bit of old with the new to make something new but not foreign.
