I haven’t seen this “Academy” silhouette from Converse before, nor do I have much info on it so I’m guessing this is one Eddie, KB and the boys at UNDFTD dug up with the Converse team from the rich history of the one star. This is THE WHITE SHOE if you were looking for a white shoe, maaaaaan. Too sick. No words.
This “Star Player Hi” flips the material cues of the “Academy” to run the ballistic nylon on most of the upper with the pebbled, garment leather being the detail accents. Yet, another perfect execution. You would expect to pay to pay exorbitant prices for premium product as such, but both of these shoes clock in under 90 ducats. *GASP*

Ok Target, I’m gonna let you finish, but Converse has, and BEEN HAD, the best Missoni releases. I mean, Missoni prints on Chucks?! GTFOH (Get those frogs outta hurr!) So yeah, some of that Target stuff was cool, but some of those patterns were like from their b-roll patterns. These PREMIUM Chucks, on the other hand, are probably the best Missoni Chucks to date. I honestly am probably looking at standing in line this Saturday myself to buy both pairs of these. At first, the orange, blue and white colorway was the one that jumped out at me, but upon closer inspection, that greyscale with Brooklyn Dodger blue accents got me doing the scrunchface (thizz face). I don’t know much about this shoe; other than that like 2,000 people called the shop the past couple of days about its release so I’m guessing a couple people REALLY want it? By now y’all know what’s good with Marimekko. It is a fashion house known for their original, stunning patterns – in the same vein as Missoni. Excellent, rich histories in both cases. I love fall because you can layer your gear. I know I live in Hawaii, but I take every opportunity to utilize layering…movies tonight? Yeah, there’s A/C in there. Layers. Gonna DJ and the fan is blowing on me? Layers. Gonna get ice cream from the freezer at Safeway (Vons)? Layers. You catch my drift. These Chukka Del Barco are like layers on layers in one shoe: wools and leathers together is like a magical Polo jacket on your feet. California Collection with spot on direction here. If you aren’t up on that A$AP ROCKY “Pesos”, then you definitely aren’t that up on Black Scale. That is called repping on the strength of the brand to the fullest with zero forced product placement. Mega and them bols make designs that you can feel. You may not understand what it all means because a lot of times I sure don’t, but what I do know is that I do elicit a reaction to their designs. Love or hate is always better than being underwhelmed to the point of not even having an opinion about a graphic. We have supported Black Scale since before it was even a brand, feel me? That’s family right there. This Dunk High Premium is bonkers! *Swizz Beatz growl* The upper utilizes a mish-mash of faux animal skins: ostrich, elephant, snake…to name a few. If you can name them all, then you should definitely check to see if animals can talk to you, Doctor Doolittle! This is a really nice dunk from the Sportswear/quickstrike division of Nike because its doing a lot but not trying to do a lot in the same breath. It kind of just is cool. Being a triple black colorway, with hints of blood red on the tongue tag and heel pull, helps keep this shoe fresh. HUF x CLICHE – HUF PRO MODEL, T-SHIRT & 5-PANEL CAP:
French skate company, Cliche, and one of our favorite brands in the shop, Huf, have joined forces for a dope little capsule: skate deck, t-shirt, 5-panel cap & Huf Pro Model shoe. We managed to score everything but the skate deck, but everything else pictured is available right now in the shop, fiends! That Golden Gate bridge x Eiffel Tower graphic is too classic! This OTW “Howell” (Premium Suede) silhouette is so dope because there is pretty much not a single branding initiative anywhere to be seen on the shoe. Its a revelation of sorts. The styling of this silhouette is so “on trend” now too. That Euro, elf boot look is dope (despite my ridiculous description of said look). Believe me or not, Ripley, but I really do like this shoe a shizton.

Koa wood is indigenous to Hawaii. It is also one of the most valuable woods. We visited various furniture makers and farms, big and small, throughout the Hawaiian islands over the past year to acquire as much of their “run off” pieces of Koa wood as possible. “Run off” wood is the extra wood that is leftover from making furniture/products. From these pieces of Koa wood, Shwood was able to manufacture 200 limited edition pairs of their popular ‘Canby’ sunglasses silhouette. The classic, rich Koa wood is highly revered in Hawaiian culture and only gets better with age. Every pair of these Koa wood ‘Canby’s have a different look to them as there are different grain patterns and tints of the wood because they were collected from different sources, and therefore, different groves/forests. Needless to say, each Shwood x KICKS/HI ‘Canby’ sunglasses will be totally unique. These 200 pairs are to commemorate KICKS/HI’s 10 year anniversary, and will be available this Saturday (9/24) exclusively at the following brick and mortar shops: KICKS/HI, KICKS/HI Guam, and Saint Alfred; with online retail partners: www.bricksworth.com & Shwood.

The latest Dunk Hi Premium QS from Nike SB is another doozy from Todd Bratrud, who previously has designed the wild popular, and even more delayed “Cheech & Chong” SB Dunk Hi. The ‘Cigar’ colorway is to represent as its name implies; with the side panels textured like the cigar paper, and the outsole to be light grey like ashes. This shoe is in conjunction with the skate shop SPoT in Tampa, Fla. and the connection comes full circle because at one point, Tampa was the cigar making capitol of the world. To be honest, Nike Quickstrike hasn’t been more miss than hit recently, but these two premium leather Dunk Hi AC’s and last month’s outstanding Air Trainer 2 SC Highs have made up some of the momentum the QS program might have lost this year so far. These Dunk Hi AC’s are really dope. They feature: a tite, vulcanized sole, a premium leather upper, leather inner lining, and a thin tongue (like when Nike was going stupid, ride the yellow bus, dumb hyphy with all those one piece Dunk Hi’s like 5 or 6 years back). There is a mustard/light caramel upper or black upper offering. Both colorways will be available in the shop this Saturday (9/24). NIKE SB – OCTOBER ’11 RELEASES:
Brand new black/white Kostons. Game over. Word to Lil Flip (a reference to the rapper’s song “Game Over”, not a slight at small Filipinos).
I didn’t think much of this Dunk Mid SB until I looked at it more, and then I tried it on, and what do you know?! Winner, winner chicken dinner! The red is muted, but the black and grey in the mix makes this colorway very Jordan-esque, which just looks so proper with: denim, khaki, military green, etc. Throw a color in there, and it will match, more often than not.

If you like HUGE Maagzine, Nike, Stussy, Supreme (to name a few), then you have for certain seen the visual artistry of artist/designer Eric Elms. He is one of this season’s selected artists for Vans Off the Wall advocates. This slim-profile midtop Bedford features black Waxed Canvas from The British Millerain Co., waxed cotton laces, tonal branding, and other elements which contribute to its modern design appeal. Let’s also not forget the red outsole. An all-in-all solid execution…that waxed canvas upper is too fresh! This Eric Elms Bedford is only sold at a handful of select OTW accounts nationwide. The amount of kids that shop with us that ride bikes (fixed gear, BMX, cruiser, mountain bike, etc.) is astounding. When our friend Jarah approached us about this new line of cool bike lights, then it made total sense to start stocking them. Especially when their stocklist reads more like a high end street line (Colette, Reed Space, American Rag, amongst other top bike shops). Affix to your grips or seat post with an elastic cord. The lights are super strong, full range LEDs, and come with a front and tail light with slow, fast or steady flash options. The buttons are large, and the undersides of the box design are curved to fit on cylindrical surfaces. The first collection of colors includes: Lemon Yellow, Goblin Green, Heavenly Blue and Pitch Black. HUF RE-UP:

It was a day to evening event filled with music by DJ SSSolution, bbqs, rooftop pool bombs courtesy of G-Hard, MG, E.Haus and other daredevils, Pineapple Dude photo-ops, and just a ton of laughs, friends and family on an epic Sunday funday!

But this 2011 Pro Leather has all the makings of a facelift that doesn’t make the shoe look like its face got reconstructed by a blind, plastic surgeon with epilepsy. Its comfortable, looks amazing with either shorts or pants, comes with 4!! different lace options (2 square cut leather colors and 2 waxed, flat colors), and is branded with the “DR.J” stamp, which speaks volumes upon volumes on the cool x style factor this shoe exudes. Are you out of your vulcan mind?!! Poor attempt at some shoe humor…wamp wamp. HUF with more heaters from their ever growing catalog. The “Choice” is a good, standard model. This time in a solid, triple black suede or green suede/ballistic nylon upper colorway.
I’m feeling this HUF “Morton” a lot. The maroon suede upper is so tite. I wouldn’t skate these – as much as I’d hit all the mall and chill in ‘em. HARD. Abington got that hiking/outdoors lifestyle kit on lock! Perfect styling and minimal branding really lets their footwear speak for themselves. I am a sucker for leather laces so these Lightweight Guide Boots already had me at “hello”. The leather trim around the panels and tongue are a nice, classy contrast to the nubuck (brown) and suede (grey) uppers. I also like the Abington cupsoles. There are so many shoes that are completely ruined by weak outsoles. Not gonna name any names, but you know you’ve seen your fair share of weenie shrivlers. BLACK SCALE TANK-TOPS:
Black Scale just seems to hit you with the right pieces at the right times, which speaks a lot to how in touch Mega and them bols are with the streets and what people really want from brands. I still think their ring/rosary/accessory game is super ahead of the curve as far as streetwear for doods goes. These tank tops are more bangers from BS.
